Jimmy (Jtstyles) Tollestrup – Lead / Rhythm Guitar / Backup Vocals
Originally from West Covina, California, Jimmy began playing guitar when he was 14. Growing up in the 80′s Jimmy is a self taught musician. He quickly established himself as a solid 80’s rhythm player while continuing to study theory and lead improvisation. He continues to study all genres of music and strives to be the perfect rhythm player, never content always learning. Jimmy uses Line 6 amplification and primarily Fender guitars.
Currently living in Las Vegas – Nevada – U.S.A. since 1982 Jimmy has played in various startup bands. He found his passion in worship and joined the worship team at Living Grace Foursquare Church here in Las Vegas (November 2004 – Present). Since joining BluFlame6 he continues to challenge himself by learning all genres of music to include pre-60′s Soul, Latin, Delta-Blues, and Jump R&B.
Jimmy uses several guitars for shows: 1984 Fender Stratocaster, 1972 Fender Telecaster, Ibanez Acoustic (EW Series Koa Wood), 1986 Fender Squire (Japan Model). He dabbles with other instruments as well, Drums (Yamaha electronic), Keyboard (Yamaha). Studio equipment: Mackie Mixers, JBL mains, Fender Subs, Galaxy Hot Spots, BBE Sonic Maximizer, SPX 90, Crown Amps. His amp of choice is the Line 6 Flextone III.
